If you felt in love with Lisbon and decided to leave all behind to live and work here, first things first: welcome to beautiful and sunny Lisbon 😉
Despite almost everybody understands english, you may feel a little lost in translation regarding some experiences, specially small things, like read the menu in a restaurant, what type of coffee to choose or where to find yoga classes in english.
Regarding this last issue, there are several new studios in Lisbon where you can book some classes in english, if you are in town for a couple of days or if you live here and want to have a regular practice.
These are some of my favourites:
Yoga Room Lisboa

Imagine a brand new yoga space where everything smells new and where you find a wide variety of yoga styles and levels, from Dynamic to Foundation or Hot Yoga, taught by several experienced teachers from all over the world to challenge your body, mind and soul. This is the spot!
They provide a yoga matt and all the props you need for the practice, so you dont have to take yours. You will also find a changing room very well equiped and an area to relax before or after class where you can enjoy a cup of tea.
Once you buy your classe (they have several prices, I recomend the Discovery Pass where you pay 48€ for 30 yoga days non stop) and download their app, you can book the classes you want, or you can just take a look with the Drop In for 18€.
They also have workshops and retreats, just pick at the agenda.
How do I get there: Just take the subway, exit in São Sebastião (blue line) and the studio is 2 min walking distance.
Iyengar Yoga Lisboa

If you are looking for an iyengar yoga teather talk with Cecilia Berberian. She is from Argentina and teaches in several studios in Lisbon. You can book a private class or a group class, depend on your needs.
The sequence of practice is designed for student’s need and they are ideal if you have special conditions, such as injuries, low back pain, hernias, stress (who don’t) or any other.
If you still dont know it this is the right class for you, you can book a first class for 10€ (for residentes) and she also provides a discount for trimestral registration.
A tip from me to you: ask her about classes at the church!

Little Yoga Space

This is a little gem right in the heart of Lisbon downtown where you can practice, learn, heal and connect with a community like-minded, that has the same values as you!
They have several classes and teachers, from yoga or pilates, for up to 8 students plus teacher. They also have a meditation and a space for therapies or councelling, as well as workshops and events.

Open Hearts Lisboa

If you are looking for yoga classes, but also fancy for a healing center, this is your spot, where you can take care of your body, mind and soul. What else can we ask for? And right in the heart of Bairro Alto.
A brand new space created by Eve Morrisey and Julie Boulanger to do some restorative work, to connect and heal in a peaceful environment.
Plus, they even have a infrared sauna and a cold plunge, if you want to experience some cold baths. Why don’t you give it a try?
