Yes, it’s difficult to access Praia da Ursa, one of the most beautiful beaches of Sintra. You don’t have maps to show you the right way, you have to go down through a rocky path and only in 2018 several persons had to be rescued by helicopter. And in the beginning of the year, a person got killed by an avalanche.
So why so many people are willing to risk their lives to go to Praia da Ursa? Because is one of the most beautifull beaches of Sintra and because of it’s difficult access. So difficult that is almost desert once you manage to get to the sand.
But how do you get there?
You have to drive to Sintra and follow the directions to Cabo da Roca, the most ocidental part of Europe. On the road find the direction Ursa and follow that way. Park the car and walk until you can.
There you can take the blue pill or the red pill, what means you can choose the path on your right or on your left. Take your sneakers and go to the left. The path is slipery so be extra carefull and avoid selfies and that kind of distractions.
When you get to the beach breath in and out and be part of the nature. Be aware this is a wild beach, you don’t find a bar or toillets. Take water with you and something to eat. Because you will need every strenght to take the same path all the way up!
